Bergeggi Marefest

Bergeggi MareFest is the event organized by the Isola di Bergeggi Marine Protected Area to make known and experience the wonders of the sea and the hinterland by offering the possibility to try all the outdoor activities for free that can be carried out in its territory in order to know its wonders but also its fragility.

Between Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May, on the beach near the Bergeggi tourism house you will be welcomed in the MareFest village where you will find the starting point for excursions and the exhibition area, which ideally represents the gateway to the wonderful world of our seabed: it will be possible to get to know many of the naturalistic and environmental aspects of the sea (we will also talk about the recent presence of a humpback whale right in our sea with the Menkab association) and of the hinterland not only from a naturalistic point of view but also from a historical one (aexcursion to the architectural park dedicated to the architect Galvagni, there will be a exhibition itinerary dedicated to the sinking of the transatlantic liner Transylvania and its commemoration) through meetings with experts, workshops for adults and children and the possibility of taking or consulting publications on the subject. There will also be aenvironmental themed escape room for adults and children.

The village also offers the possibility to attend sporting events and exhibitions of various disciplines such as swimming and sailing and sea rescue demonstrations. The guides and experts of various specialized associations and companies will accompany you both at sea with canoes, sup, sailing boats and swimming and on land on foot or by bike with different itineraries and degrees of difficulty.

As a corollary of the event we will also have two concerts, one on the sea on Saturday with the Uma Rells during the event and one, very special, at dawn on Sunday 7 May on the top of Mount Mao with departure at 5 am. Eliana Zunino, voice, Marco Pizzorno, guitar, Dino Cerruti, double bass will perform with a concert entitled "If there is a road under the sea..." Songs of before and after, of travel, of discovery, of wonder.
