From 3 to 11 February four events in which the Pro Loco of the four countries will always participate to mark a collaboration that lasts all year
A territory that also dresses up with Carnival costume: the Gulf of the Island in fact renews the Traveling Carnival which already last year, in its first edition, had gathered support. The countries of Bergeggi, Noli, Spotorno e Vezzi Portio they will also be represented by as many allegorical floats, set up by the Pro Loco, which will parade in the four scheduled events, one per location.
The start will be Saturday February 3 da Vezzi Portio, departing at 14.30pm from the Church of S. Libera and arriving at 15.30pm at the sports field in S. Giorgio where a snack will be organized in which there will be no shortage of typical Carnival sweets, starting with lies and pancakes, but also entertainment music and games for the little ones.
The day after, Sunday February 4, will be the turn of Noli starting at 14.30 pm from Piazza Aldo Moro for the procession which through the Borgo will arrive at 15.30 pm in Piazza del Comune. Here the keys to the city will be handed over to the traditional mask 'Marin's'. The closing of the procession is scheduled for 16pm in Piazza Chiappella where the Carnival party will continue with music, dancing and a snack for adults and children.
The Gulf Carnival will continue the following weekend, Saturday February 10, Bergeggi with the parade starting at 15pm from Piazza Torre d'Ere and arriving, an hour later, in Piazza XX Settembre where it will be possible to have fun with the piñata and make the palate rejoice thanks to the proposal of traditional Carnival desserts.
Closing in style Sunday February 11 a Spotorno for the departure of the procession with allegorical wagons always at 15pm at the Ferrer Manuelli roundabout and arrival in Piazza della Vittoria to celebrate all together to the sound of music.
"A party – they explain from Pro Loco - which will be repeated four times, but on each occasion in different ways. In fact, the villages change, the context and above all from time to time the wagons of the local associations that have already communicated their membership will join.”. Among these are many organizations rooted in the area such as Itzua, the White Cross, the AIB / Civil Protection and the Tossese Association. The themes will then be references to the territory, with the bees of Vezzi Portio and the Spotorno Castle, without forgetting the heroes of the little ones, from Princesses to Toy Story characters.
Furthermore, the organization of the Gulf Carnival brings other important news. First of all, the ability to network the territory which involves not only the institutions - the Municipalities of Bergeggi, Noli, Spotorno and Vezzi Portio, founders of the Gulf of the Island - but also the associations that operate locally and which in this way strengthen the ties already established on other occasions, such as Golden Trail finals. Furthermore, and this is the second important aspect, even in periods usually considered less attractive - the winter months - there is no shortage of opportunities for everyone, locals and tourists, to have fun. The festively dressed Gulf of the Island also becomes attractive for out-of-season visitors who, thanks also to a spring climate, can enjoy the fun between an excursion and a walk on the beach.
