The Grand Finale of Golden Trail World Series 2023 for the Gulf of the Island it means more than a calendar of prominent races. In fact, it represents an opportunity to show the beauties and potential of the district identified by the Gulf of the Island, with a taste of the activities that can be practiced during all year round and food and wine peculiarities of the territory. This is why various collateral activities have been organized which aim to involve all citizens, not just trekking enthusiasts, with events dedicated to families, to the little ones and to tourists who can take advantage of this opportunity to appreciate the different points of view on the Gulf of the Island.
Here are the main ones.
On October 14th and 15th we warm up our muscles with pre-event trekking
Two appointments to sample part of the route and to learn about some of the treks that the Gulf of the Island offers to its visitors, perfect for autumn and spring.
Saturday October 14 departure at 10.30 am on the Via Antica Romana in Spotorno for an 8 km ring with D+ 430 m. (difficulty E) on the prologue itinerary, which reaches the heights of Spotorno and Bergeggi with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of the Island and Liguria.
Sunday October 15, from 10.30 am from the Church of S. Francesco Noli, the 12.5 km trek with D+ 550 meters begins. (difficulty E) on the final route. It will be possible to explore the promontory of Capo Noli and San Michele with its treasures of naturalistic and historical value, known for the passage of illustrious figures such as Dante Alighieri and Captain Enrico d'Albertis.
On 20 and 21 October we will walk (and enjoy)
Friday 14th October we leave at 11.30 from the Casa del Turismo of Spotorno with a route along the ancient Roman road to reach Noli where it will be possible to have a tasting of local products (for a fee). Similar formula Saturday October 21 departing at 15.30pm from the Town Hall of Vezzi Portio reachable by Circolare del Golfo Green line and tasting (for a fee) in Vezzi. Also on Saturday with departure at 15.30 pm from Salita Magazzeno Bergeggi reachable by Circolare del Golfo Blu line, walk in the village and aperitif in stages (for a fee, 20 euros). Also in this case, reservations are required at the Spotorno Tourist Office.
From sea excursions to family events
In the long weekend that will open on October 19th also the sea will be the protagonist with the proposal of Kayak tour discovering theMarine Protected Area of the Island of Bergeggi and its sea caves. Every day two shifts (at 10am and 14pm) departing from the Kontiki bathing establishment in Spotorno (reservations required on 3470842691, cost 25 euros).
Saturday October 21 at 16 pm even children up to 7 years old and children from 8 to 17 years old will be able to experience the emotions of the GTWS with a promotional trail in Noli. The former are called to run a 500 m city circuit with a suggestive passage in via Fiumara, under the old bridge, while the older ones are asked to run a 3 km route with D+ 100 m on the last lap of the Golfo dell'Isola Trail Race, passing also in the castle of Noli. At 17.30 pm the awards ceremony will be held on the stage upon arrival with a simultaneous free gymnastics performance. Registrations on the ENDU portal.
This program complements the one linked to the races which includes the races from Thursday to Sunday Hike, support taste with trekking and picnics at strategic points on the route where you can watch the race. These are added to the Fan zone in Piazzetta Chiappella a Noli, where world-famous athletes will pass 6 times along the route.
