The marine area was established in 2007 with the aim of protecting and enhancing the natural characteristics and biodiversity of the marine and coastal environment.

For scuba diving enthusiasts, the Blue Paths have been set up, managed by the Blue Path Association such as the Pifferario or the Canalone.

Playing a sport such as scuba diving regularly can bring many benefits for the mind and body: you create a unique connection with the underwater environment and develop positive and well-being sensations in contact with the water. A peace and an indescribable sense of freedom.

Do you know the Decalogue of the Diver? Here it is!

1. Before diving, find out about the environmental characteristics of the chosen site

2. Take care of your hydrostatic attitude, avoiding contact with the bottom and not entering submerged cavities without adequate specific experience and if you are not perfectly aware of penetrating a very fragile environment

3. If you use the scuba diving ball, check that the top does not damage the benthic communities of the cliff above.

4. Do not alter the behavior of wild organisms by giving them food, for example

5. Do not collect any organisms (souvenirs, etc.)

6. In case of anchoring, check that the anchor does not cause damage to the environment (avoiding the posidonia meadows and the coralligenous)

7. Avoid leaving tombstones, artifacts and / or waste on the bottom

8. Report meetings with rare organisms to the Managing Body and any anomalous situation that is occurring within the WAP

9. Collaborate in the "ecological cleaning" operations organized by the managing body

10. Raise awareness among other divers of respecting the environment

Have fun!
